The Ta’awunu Human Rights Initiative is an Human Rights Organization registered in Nigeria by the Corporate Affairs Commission guided by the principle of rule of law, the doctrine of Equity which has saddled upon herself the fight against oppression as well as violation of Human and people’s rights in accordance with the provision of fundamental Human Rights of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, the African Charter on Human and People’s rights, the United Nations declaration of Human Rights; the Quran and Sunnah (in accordance to the principle of Islamic Law) for those who submitted to it.

It is apropos at this juncture to know that, the Ta'awunu Human Rights Initiative consists of both Muslim and Non-Muslim Human Rights Lawyers advocating for Human Rights. Fighting against Human Rights violation and settle same irrespective of religion or beliefs. Knowing further, that the organization has a body executive positions serving as the mind and engine for the running of the day to day activities of the organization.

And having constitution regulating her conducts and activities in line with the provisions of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (As Amended).

Profile Summary

I am passionate, meticulous and proficient in civil and human rights activist, a dedicated legal practitioner with over several years’ professional experience. I have over the past eighteen years involved senior management responsibilities in multi-cultural workplaces. I have extensive experience of guiding the development and managing the implementation of strategic and business planning processes. I am an Ambitious legal practitioner and  human right activist  in fluid and fast-paced environment to effectively set and execute on priorities and comfortable balancing competing stakeholders and risks to reach acceptable outcomes as well as advises organizations to solve complex challenges. I am proficient in drafting legal documents, negotiating settlements and ensuring human rights equity. My technological prowess encompasses Microsoft Suite, and a strong understanding of legal report writing such as the current strategic plan of the Ta’awunu Human Rights Initiative. I possess both theoretical and hands-on skills that underpin pioneering legal research endeavors. I have considerable experience of the oversight of budgets and of ensuring accountability for public funds.

My professional approach is marked by organizational acumen and reliability, allowing me to effectively multi-task while maintaining a positive outlook.   5. To provide convention by organizing and financing seminars, courses and humanitarian programs for orientating the mankind towards maintaining the law and orderliness in the society
  6. To be concerned with the following infringements of Human rights: Racial prejudice and discrimination, global poverty and deprivation, suppression of opinion, religion or belief, unjust detention or unlawful arrest, restriction of association, ethnic persecution,
  7. Victimization of member and general public, subjugation of national and cultural minorities, torture, genocide, family issues, general dispute, war crimes and crime against humanity; whereas we are guided by the divine law of Al-islam and the universal declaration of human Right.

CORE Values

The Ta’awunu Human Rights initiatives THURIST agitates and settles all human rights violations generally without any form of discrimination irrespective of religion, belief, tribe or gender.

The Human Rights Organization as well settles. The Human Rights organization as well settles disputes out of court at a weekly session of her Alternative Dispute Resolution  where matters of purely civil colourations are settled out of court by Arbitration or Mediation. Some of the matters entertained includes:

  2. Negligence
  3. Insurance claims
  4. Marital or family disputes
  5. Post-divorce settlements
  6. Oil and Gas spillage
  7. Landlord and Tenant
  8. Debt recovery
  9. Land dispute
  10. Chieftaincy matters
  11. Tort claims (e.g. any claims that arise from damage to property, reputation, negligence, etc)
  12.  Inheritance
  13. Trade and Labour disputes such as Wrongful and unlawful termination of appointments
  14.  Nuisance.

The Human Rights Organization had also investigate different human rights violation notable among others include:

  1. The Movie titled "Iku ni" produced by Bisi Obanla featuring popular Nollywood actor Odunlade Adekola which portrayed Muslim women in veil in a bad light.
